went to the track today

My friend finally drug me to the drags today to see how the old girl ran.

1ST

60- 3.013
1/8- 11.478
1/4- 16.773
MPH- 93.745

I spun through most of the first sixty feet and into the first shift

2nd

60- 2.557
1/8- 10.221
1/4- 15.453
MPH- 93.958

Pedaled hard off the line and remembered to put it all the way to the floor after I had traction.

3rd

60- 2.428
1/8- 9.904
1/4- 15.13
MPH- 92.313

Had a passenger on this run, against a 10 sec rail car, didn't have to pedal much on the line.

This was the trucks maiden voyage to the strip, all in all I was very pleased with the results---keep in mind I have an open 3:08 rear end and a granny gear 4-speed, launch in second and topping out 3rd at the stripe.

Now I have a baseline for the 700r4, converter and 3:73 posi that I will be installing at christmas

not bad at all! Thats the best thing you could have done right there... find out what your performance is BEFORE making changes. Then you won't be guessing later on if there's a problem or lack of performance.

Hey jocko87, those are very good runs with your truck. How much horsepower do you have to pull those times? I want to get a ruff estimate before I go to the track with my stall and posi unit in. Right now I think I have at least 300 hp to the wheels.

I really don't know what kind of HP I have, never been to the dyno but with 300 HP you should be able to get close to that MPH. My ETs are so slow because of the granny tranny and no traction, so I would have no idea what kind of times you can cut.

I think I have the power to run a mid to low 13 once I get the 700r4, converter and 3:73's installed this christmas, if I get silly I may spray it and see what happens
