Hi i just regestered over here im over at the 73-87 message boards as crackajacka but anyways i got my old engine back and i tore it down and of course it had to be a chipped piston that caused all this. but anyways would it be worth rebuilding this block into a higher performance engine? what block stand would yall recomend if i do? and also how do you tell the difference between a solid/mechanical cam and a hydraulic one?
thanks paul

I would find a 350 core and build that. That 305 will cost about the same as it would to build that 305. I would also concider the cheaters route and look at 350 crate engines. I know it's more fun to build your own, but the crate engine route will have you up and running faster, and you get a nice warrenty. :D There's noone you can call and yell at on the phone if the engine you built get's messed up. . . :)
