I recently installed a Camaro tach in my gauge cluster and while I had it apart, I made use of the empty pod just to the right of the steering column ;)

Here is a pic of the tach installed. Notice how the empty pod is blacked out?

This is how my Dakota Digital air pressure gauge was mounted with the aluminum bezel that was supplied with it. It's designed to be panel mounted but I had no panel to mount it in!

So I moved it here........... (FYI.... when the pressure sending units aren't hooked up to the gauge, this is the default screen that lights up.)

One thing I didn't like about this modification was that the tach had a "white" tint to it rather than "green" like the rest of the gauges when the dash lights were on. So I made up a couple green tinted "filters" and placed them on either side of the tach. It worked! I tried to get a pic showing how it matched the other gauges, but it didn't turn out all that great......

Cool idea man.

my vette had those air pressure gauges in it...I always wondered how that info was transmitted to the gauge.

What color filter did you use? Black? ;) I can't see anything.

Looks good... but there's something odd about the tach. I think it's the font for the numbers and/or the yellow sweep line. Seems out of place. But... at least you've got a tach for when you're on the high banks.

Oh, and great idea on getting the air gauge out from under the dash. ;)

XXL.... you need to adjust the contrast/brightness on your puter screen...... shows up fine on mine ;)

Yes, I know it isn't the correct tach and doesn't match perfectly, but the stock tachs only go up to 5,000RPM. So this is the next best thing.

You know, if you don't have anything nice to say, you really shouldn't say anything! :D

Either that or he's finally solved the ages-old engineering problem (as posed by NON-engineering management)... how to get 30 gallons in a 20 gallon tank. ;)

if that were true, the gas tank would have to cover the back window, I would imagine those gas fumes would kill a brain cell or two, or maybe his gas uage is just retarded

What kind of finish is that on the panel? I like that.

Thanks. Spray paint (rattle can). I sprayed the flat part of the panel with the off-white color, then taped off the recessed areas and painted those charcoal. There are a couple areas where the paint didn't adhere to the plastic and pulled up with the masking tape (low tack tape). So I had to thouch up those areas which didn't look very good. I have another panel that I'll be painting and installing once the truck gets done (painted).
