My Old Truck also includes Remote Control Nitro trucks ;)

Today I took my Savage 21 to the local Skate Park and gave the camcorder to Tyler (my 10yr old son) for a lil video footage of the event!

lol sorry about the file size. it was my first video.

I've done a few things on it so far. These are awesome trucks!!!!
Primerless tank
Dual brake disk mod
throttle linkage mod
updated spider gears front and rear
40w oil in all shocks
new springs all the way around
rotostart (best thing since sliced bread)

I have another one coming in the mail any day, its a Savage 21 too that I bought off ebay.

O get this, I found the '72 cheyenne body for the savage. I'm having it painted right now to match my truck exactly! I'll have it at the All Truck Nats in a few weeks. Pics will definatly be on the way shortly after ;)

The last jump is a little misleading. its actually up there about 10ft instead of what looks like 6ft ;). It was shooting up out of a bowl area doing about 30mph in 2nd gear

Link please :devil I started off with an electric one when i was 18 the black foot. And I loved that little guy, actually thinking of getting another one for Kevin to play with. ;) I got my savage like 2 1/2 years ago, and I will never go back to electric again ! LOL I put a new motor in after HPI sent me 3 of theres and they were poop. I have to get back into playing with mine. I keep stripping the bolt the brake rotor rides on :confused1 I am ruff on mine though.

As for the vid. Man we need some skate parks like that out here, I am going out search'n now. The one I goto is like a 1/4 the size of yours. That is awsome, Glad to see I am not the only one to crash :devil

I promis you that you truck will fly 30-40 feet... :devil I have a clip someplace but dont know how to post it up. They are great trucks !

yea I like the short ramps for flipping. have you mastered this art? Using the brake/throttle to flip while in the air then land on the wheels every time.

Wonder if you can enter that in the Ark City show?? :D

I dunno about entering it.. but it will be there lol. Hmmmm maybe there needs to be a new class for this type of entry!? It could also win "longest distance Award".

What is the going price on one of those truck? I have a battery operated truck that i have had since i was 12 years old and was wondering what was the price of a gas powered one and how easy they are to modify.

New RTR Savage 25 will set you back about $380.00 then you'll need fuel, bottle and a glow starter after that.

I've bought 2 off ebay in the past month for $200 each.

These things are simple to run and work on. The savage just takes a beating and keeps on coming back for more. I've wasted more parts on my evader in 10 minutes than I have in the month I've had the savage.

I have to agree with that ! My savage has gone through some parts, but it is a solid truck. On the other hand my E-MAXX now that has cost me a little $$$ First week we had it Jenna slaped a curb, bam $200, just in parts, I could have go a new one for that :help: I have todate around $2000 invested in my savage, and it is worth every dime. It is just fun..... :)

good news for the RC enthusiasts, Fast Lane Speedway will be at the truck show with quite a set-up of jumps and cars to crush and they will be donating an RC Truck to the auction. 86RedBowtie, bring you wallet and I know they can set you up after you buy the donated truck, (hehe)

lol cool.

I just got through pulling the transmission on mine, I've got a oneway beaing in the transmission that slipping. Depending on the condition of the savage I just bought.. This one might be in store for a new trans and a XTM 24.7 or maybe a picco .26. I've seen the 24.7 simply flip the truck over backwards if you lay into the throttle.

These things are just too fun I tell ya!

well it turns out the transmission is fine... the wheels however are having issues lol. The stock rims just stripped out in the center. Dang now I gotta go get better looking rims and tires :) time for some "big joes"

time for some "big joes"

I dont know, I would think twice about the big joes, unless you plan on running a larger motor. My buddy terry has a set of them and I put them on my 21 and they are poopie. I messed with the tranny shift points and could not make it right, I lost hella speed out of it as well. Kevin's little radio shack POS beat me off the line and it is an electric, i almost could not catch up. I lost a good 10mph with them big a$$ tires. If it is just for show then ya it looks tight, but for playing IMO don't waste your $$$ :D

You do know you can tighten up the sper gear right, When I first got mine it was slipping and I thought it was the tranny and it was only the spur gear that needed to be tight. :D

As for the nut stripping out your rim, I used some crazy glue on mine, It helps with the slap that goes on in there, and puts all the torqe to the tires. I usually load it up, that way they stay put. :D I had gone through 4 rims before I tryed that and none since. Knock on wood LOL

yea the slipper clutch was as tight as it could get and still slipped, it was toasted but wasnt the whole problem. I've read about guys having tons of problems with the HPI wheels doing this.. everyone says just get a different set and you'll be fine.

I may go ahead and get the big joes, not sure yet. My plans for a XTM will have to come even sooner.. darn ;)

I as most of you know am into R/C heavy duty, Mainly Aerobatic Planes, But we ( I and the 10 year old ) Have 4 trucks. I gave him my first one, A Kyosho King Cab, Electric, And we share the other three. An HPI 2 wd.Nitro Stadium truck, A Kyosho 2 wd. Nitro Stadium Truck, and an Cen 4 wheel drive Nitro Racing Monster Truck that converts very easily into a Stadium,or Buggy...
We don't play with them as much as we should, But they don't go bad by sitting. I was going to sell the Kyosho, The guy even said he sent a money order,, but it never came, and now he won't answer E-mails... Hope he just backed out and nothing happened to him...

I had a HPI super nitro, 4 wheel drive, on road Semi-scale 1/8th The wife bought a Rossi 12 for it, 1 HP from a 12, 20 to 22000 RPM :checker: It would literally just sit and spin.. a kick in the hiney to play with on concrete, but As ya'll seen, I have no concrete so I sold it.. I kept the Rossi though...... I think I'll put it in the HPI Truck,

I have thought about the Savage, I have heard Nothin but good things about it, And of course we all want to go bigger and bigger.... I seen a 1/4 scale truck with a Zenoah 23 gas engine, I tried to trade the guy out of it but he wanted money and I was broke at the time.. ( Story of my life :p )

Piston:
My son Jeff just had his out running it up down the street. He hadn't run it in probably 6 mo. or longer. He just took off to go to the baseball field at Prarie Center Park to run it out there on the infield. I can't remember what brand his is but it'll run about 34 MPH on the street. Scared the he## out of the neighbor's yellow cat that was crossing the street!
