I have a Van tilt Has anyone here actually installed one ? I was looking at the one bought and I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to relocate the netural saftey switch. Pic's would help out alot. I also disassembled my old auto plane coloum and took all of the rubber gaskets off to use on the van tilt. Do the van tilt's mount the same ?

Thanks Mario

i guess i'll be the one to tell you that there is plenty of info. on search about this subject. i'll start by saying this .....you'll need to diconnect the switch from the current mounting spot....measure exactly 7" down from the current mounting holes, and current "channel" that the plastic tang rides in from side to side.so just take everything you see in the present location and move them south by 7". the hole in the firewall may present a little problem tryin to get the shift finger through... but just bend it over to allow you room to pass it through......once through, bend it back into the original position.if you don't already have a collapsible intermediary shaft on your existing drive shaft....you'll need to get one.drill out the plastic pins that connects the female and male portions of the shaft, and adjust the driveshaft as needed. gmcpaul i believe has the best detailed installation procedures on this subject.look under "tech tips". hope this helps get ya started! god knows if it wasn't for some guy's answering MY thread about installing a van tilt i wouldn't have been getting it done! especially the part about the neutral safety switch......!

Yes, thanks!

I about to do this myself. Have the colomn in pieces and would like to do the mod in advance of reassembling it. An exact measurement really helps.

Any chance you have a digital camera to take some pictures?

sorry, not too 'puter lierate! forgot to tell ya also, a dremel tool w/ a cut-off wheel is very useful on a job like this.(to cut the slot in the column's outter skin, and also the inner tube that the "plastic tang" of the neutral safety/backup switch will ride in).
